Hunt Crossing’s first foal was born at 1:30 a.m., February 7 at O’Sullivan Farms in Charles Town, West Virginia. The filly, bred by O'Sullivan Farms, is out of the winning Johannesburg mare Monavista. Monavista raced in the name of Audley Farm and won 4 of her 6 victories in Virginia.
Hunt Crossing is from the first crop of G1 SW and Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile winner Corinthian. As an early training graduate of Eddie Woods Stables, he won 2 of his 3 starts at 2, including first time out in a Maiden Special Weight at Saratoga and the NATC Futurity at Monmouth Park for trainer Todd Pletcher. He was an early favorite for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Sprint that year before a career-ending injury.
Hunt Crossing is from the same influential sire line that has produced Pulpit, Tapit and A.P. Indy and descends from the same tail female line as Americain. He will stand in 2013 at Randy Funkhouser's O'Sullivan Farms, LLC for $1,500 live foal as the property of Dell Ennis. Season inquiries to Randy or John Funkhouser at (304)725-2276.
