Nastar Medallist: The 4-year-old Maryland-bred filly, a winner at Laurel in February, is by Medallist out of Experts Only. For the non-skiers out there, Nastar is the largest public grassroots ski race program in the world.

Lindyhop: The 4-year-old filly, who won at Laurel March 1, is out of Jazzitup and honors a jazz/swing dance invented in Harlem.

Armedandbeautiful: The 5-year-old mare, a winner at Parx Racing March 4, is by Posse out of Brazen Charm.

Middleburg: The Bert and Diana Firestone homebred, who won at Gulfstream Park Feb. 14, is a half-brother to Winchester, a Grade 1 winner and millionaire. The Firestones appear to be making a map of northern Virginia. What’s next? Their hometown, Upperville, perhaps?
